I finished The Whisperer in the Darkness last night, and I have to say it was quite the good story. However, I was a bit disappointed at one of the main turning points of the story. It seemed obvious to me that the protagonist knew that something was up, but decided to travel halfway along the eastern seaboard just the same to hang out at a remote farmhouse where there were suspicious goings on.
Thoughts on the story?
Also, any thoughts on the next HP story I should embark upon?

Next Story
If you have not read The Shadow Out of Time then I'd suggest that one. It's a good story that I quite enjoyed. If you have read it try The Shunned House then, also a great one.
As to my thoughts on The Whisperer in the Darkness it has been a while since I read it and I'm not terribly fresh on the story, however, most of Lovecraft's protagonists are intrepid adventurers with more curiosity and a sense of wonder than that of fear and doubt (which I imagine was a part of Lovecraft's culture) thus I'm not surprised at all when they run headlong into danger and weirdness. Remember, for them weird doesn't happen; life is normal, society predictable, and science promises to explain everything.
